Reports and Discussions:
Pay – UNISON not to proceed with strike. 20% turnout slight majority in favour. Proposed 2% rise September 2008/09/10. Government target 2.9% on inflation.
Ian Spoke – Executive have fair pay for teachers documentation with Reps. Taken advertising in National Newspapers – will meet 21/11/07. Ballot proposed 10/12/07. Discussed – 1 day action or discontinuous action. Meetings on action:-
Keighley College - Monday 26 th November.
Ilkley Grammar School - Monday 3 rd December
Bradford - Tuesday 4 th December.
Other teacher union involvement.
Workload – John Howarth spoke - Primary 50 hours a week latest survey. Target driven culture eg. (performance management), documentation, NUT Rep checklist. Teachers workload – stress/wellbeing survey.
Academies/Trust Schools – British Edu Trust – withdrawn (Rhodesway) – Thanks for campaign. Dixons now proposed to be sponsor at Rhodesway.
Wyke Manor Academy discussions continue.
Three secondary schools considering Trust Status
Performance Management – out of time.
National Executive Members for West Yorkshire
Nominations Hazel Danson, Patrick Murphy.
CBC – to go to next meeting.
New bank savings account – Teachers Building Society.
Local Officers – President needed due to Saleh Rahman getting a job in Kirklees. Thanks to Saleh for his active participation while he was in Bradford.
